Presentation of Ipswich River Watershed Projects and Low-Impact Development Tour
Description: The Ipswich River Watershed is the site of a DCR/EPA/USGS multi-year study that piloted and evaluated low-impact development (LID) and water conservation techniques. You are invited to an overview presentation and bus tour of selected demonstration projects. The presentation will address water issues facing the Ipswich Watershed and the results of nine LID and water conservation projects piloted under the study. Project managers, engineers, researchers, and municipal partners will be on hand to answer questions.
A tour of approximately 4.5 hours will follow and will include visits to four demonstration sites in Ipswich and Wilmington, including: a green roof; an LID subdivision; a permeable parking lot/LID retrofit at a town beach; and a neighborhood LID retrofit. You may attend the presentation only, or both the presentation and the tour. There will be an opportunity to purchase lunch on site (approximately $10), or you may bring your own lunch.
This event is targeted to town elected officials, planners, conservation and health agents, Planning Board and Conservation Commission members, Open Space Committee members, DPW staff, town engineers, and state and federal water resources managers and regulators.
Don’t miss this opportunity to view these unique projects first-hand and ask questions of town officials, developers, designers/engineers, and the funders.

Location: The presentation will take place at Ipswich Town Hall, 25 Green Street, Ipswich, Massachusetts. The tour will leave from and return to this same location and include stops in Ipswich and Wilmington, MA.
